[He is. Exhausted. and is crashing in the living room and scrolling through his phone.

But when he notices Vin is there, he'll raise a hand up and give a little wave.]

[she pauses for a moment, searching for something to say.]

That was certainly strange.

[moonlightbeast]

It was really weird.

[At least they're in agreement about that.]

Have you ever seen anything like it before?

[allomantic]

[she shakes her head.]

I have... seen fights, certainly, but none that resembled that.

[moonlightbeast]

I've seen fights that get out of control sometimes, but nothing quite like that.

I don't like it. This place is really sensitive to everything we do. We shouldn't be doing hurtful things to each other.

[allomantic]

[she frowns.]

I wondered if maybe he was influenced somehow in that place, like some of us were during the game yesterday... But Damien said he didn't feel any different than normal.

[moonlightbeast]

Yeah, he told me the same thing too. That he just wanted to change something.

[He keeps glancing back to his phone and typing something. He might actually be messaging Damien right now, surprise.]

...I do not think it was a wise thing to do.

[even if she can understand that desire.]

But I am relieved he survived through it regardless. I did not think both of them would make it out safely.

[moonlightbeast]

I didn't think so either. I thought at least one of them was going to die.

[And he actually likes both Damien and Riff, so that was tough to watch.]

...I still do not know if we can trust the residents, but we at least owe them a debt, I think. It would have been different without their help.

[moonlightbeast]

We do.

...I don't think the Residents are bad people. But our needs are in conflict, I think. This is their home, and our very presence is changing it.

[allomantic]

I imagine most of us would like to leave here and stop ruining it for them.

[but she gets what he means, and it's a perspective she hadn't really considered before. she pauses.]

You trust them?

[moonlightbeast]

I feel sympathy for them, I think.

[allomantic]

...It is good of you.

[moonlightbeast]

I don't know if it's necessarily 'good', given that we might actually be pests in their home, but it is what it is.

[allomantic]

[she shrugs.]

I imagine they would rather have someone sympathetic towards them than the alternative.

[moonlightbeast]

I mean. They could just kill all of us right away. That would get rid of the problem immediately.

But I think they don't want to hurt us, no. At least, not right now.

[allomantic]

...I guess it is just hard to know what they want. What their goal is. I have trouble believing we understand everything about their motives.

[moonlightbeast]

We definitely don't. They might not even be human, and if they're an entirely different species then there's probably more going on here than what we can understand.

[allomantic]

[tilting her head a little.]

You are sympathetic to them, even though it sounds like you don't know whether they can be trusted?

[moonlightbeast]

Well yeah. We're the intruders here, they just wanted to live their lives. It's hard not to feel responsible for that.

[allomantic]

[she shakes her head.]

You did not do anything to cause that, and you would leave if you could, would you not? You shouldn't feel any guilt, even if you feel sympathetic.

[moonlightbeast]

I guess not, no. But it's hard to feel sympathy without guilt.

[allomantic]

...I guess so.

[after a moment:]

But I hope you can remember you did nothing to cause this.

[moonlightbeast]
