Week 1, Thursday

[Atsushi is trying to sleep. Key word being 'trying' because he gasps awake after a short while. He sits up in his bed, looking a bit panicked, but he sees that he's in the medbay and it's Clarte there and not a certain someone else. So the shock wears off, and he sighs.]

Sorry. Looking for someone?

[His default is to assume anyone coming near him is looking for someone else. Atsushi your self-esteem.]

[atsushi, no.]

No, I thought I would check up on you. Are you... well, "are you all right" isn't really the question to ask right now, I suppose.

[moonlightbeast]

It's alright, I think I get the sentiment.

[He would be asking exactly the same thing if he weren't hurt right now.]

I'll be alright, thank you.

Is there anything you need right now? You should probably keep resting.

[moonlightbeast]

Rest sounds good, yes.

[His stomach growls.]

week 1, saturday.

[out in the void...

clarte is wandering about, moke following beside them, when they spot atsushi.]

... Hello, Atsushi. You were very brave there.

[they feel like saying "good job" or something along those lines is inappropriate given that... well, probably no one but marie's alter ego feels good about how things went down.]

[Atsushi definitely does not feel good about how things went down. But it's alright, because if anything he seems a bit more determined now.]

I'm just glad I was able to pull through and be brave at the right time. We found out so much because of it.

... We did. I suspect it'll be a very difficult path from here—but we won't get anywhere without the truth.

...we need to take care of Kazuma-san too, until his...execution. He's got to be in a lot of pain right now.

week 2, friday

[clarte is wandering around, moke by their side and occasionally rubbing himself against their ankle.

when they spot atsushi, they pause.]

... I'm glad you're unharmed, Atsushi. [...] How are you feeling?

[moonlightbeast]

...unharmed?

[He sounds confused. Why would he be harmed?]

Er...I've been better honestly, but I think I can pull through.

[He looks like he was crying earlier though.]

[because people are dying!!]

I hope you're not saying that for the sake of it...

[moonlightbeast]

[People are dying but Atsushi is cursed to always survive.]

I-I'm not, I promise! Someone important to me once told me that 'if you wallow in self-pity then your world becomes an unending nightmare'. Even if this isn't quite 'self-pity', the idea works the same for grief, right?

week 3, monday

[my abilities to write starters have vaporized so here we are]

Enjoying the new food, Atsushi?

[He has. Absolutely grabbed like five trays of sushi.]

Yes! It's nice to have food that I don't have to cook. Have you had sushi before?

There's no time like the present to try! Do you like fish at all?

Week 4, Friday

[moonlightbeast]

[Well. Out in the void, Atsushi is getting ready for another trial. Getting a new notebook from Party City, plenty of writing utensils, plenty of snacks...this boy will be Ready. And when he sees Clarte, he will nod at them.]

Hey.

[georeject]

[... well, in a way, it's heartening to see someone so prepared.]

Hello, Atsushi. [...] How are you feeling...?

Tired, kind of restless.

[Both accurate, Clarte will feel it coming from him.]

Knowing that we'll be condemning someone to death tomorrow isn't so great either.

... Indeed. It'd be nice if Percival's miracle could repeat, but we shouldn't necessarily count on it.

week 4, saturday.

[georeject]

[hopefully you're not about to say you're not open to pcs because clarte is entering gay baby jail, holding a few cups.]

[Clarte is welcome to join him in gay baby jail!

The small realm is mostly dark, with the only light coming from a set of stained glass windows. There's no visible furniture in the room, and in fact the only detail that can be seen is the fact that the floor of this room is made from wood.

Atsushi is seated in the small area of lit up space, knees drawn up to his chest. But when he sees Clarte, he gives them a small smile.]

[they smile back softly, walking over to him before holding out a cup of tea.]

I don't know if you're in the mood to drink anything, but...

[Tea...he'll take that cup, sure.]
